Nottingham Tennis Centre brings world-class grass court tennis to the city

Every June, the courts on University Boulevard become a stop on the international grass court calendar. The Lexus Nottingham Tennis Centre, which the LTA describes as the largest public tennis centre in Great Britain with 40 courts, hosts the Lexus Nottingham Open, bringing women's WTA 250 and men's ATP Challenger Tour 125 events to the city in the same week.
The 2025 tournament, held from 15 to 22 June, was the 10th women's edition and the 29th for the men. American McCartney Kessler won the women's singles, beating Dayana Yastremska 6-4, 7-5 in the final. In the men's event, Croatia's Marin Čilić beat Shintaro Mochizuki 6-2, 6-3.
The doubles titles went to Santiago González and Austin Krajicek in the men's draw, and to Beatriz Haddad Maia and Laura Siegemund in the women's.
In June 2026 the tournament was back, and there was plenty for home fans to cheer. British pair Harriet Dart and Maia Lumsden won the women's doubles, beating Shuko Aoyama and Chan Hao-ching in the final.
The 2026 women's singles title went to Marie Bouzková of the Czech Republic, who beat American Emma Navarro 7-6, 4-6, 6-2. Australia's Christopher O'Connell won the men's singles, beating Finland's Otto Virtanen in two tight tie-breaks, while Fernando Romboli and Theodore Winegar took the men's doubles.
What makes the Nottingham event special is the setting. This is a public tennis centre that local players use throughout the year, and for one week each summer it plays host to some of the best players in the world as they prepare for the grass court season.
Planning is already under way for 2027, with the tournament provisionally scheduled for 12 to 20 June. The LTA says player entry lists and ticket information will be announced closer to the time.
Tournament news, past champions and ticket details are available on the LTA's Lexus Nottingham Open pages, and the centre itself is well worth a visit for anyone looking for a game.
