Nottingham's favourite road race had its biggest day yet in 2026. Thousands of runners took to the streets on Sunday 27 September for the Robin Hood Half Marathon, and within days more than £750,000 had been raised for charity through JustGiving alone, with donations still coming in.

The 13.1-mile course is one of the most scenic city runs in the country. It passes some of Nottingham's best-known landmarks, including Wollaton Hall and Nottingham Castle, with GoodGym noting that runners are bound to spot deer in Wollaton Park, before finishing at Victoria Embankment beside the River Trent.

Race director Judith Manson was full of praise for everyone involved. "We broke so many records from entry numbers to fundraising totals, volunteer turnouts and the biggest crowds along the route ever!" she said. "The atmosphere throughout the city was fantastic, and seeing so many people come together to achieve their personal goals is what makes this event so special."

The 2026 success built on an already remarkable year in 2025, when the Half and Mini Marathon brought together more than 14,000 runners and raised £578,610 for charities and good causes. That took the total raised at the event since 2015 to £3,031,406.

The money makes a real difference to local organisations. In 2025, Nottingham Hospitals Charity raised £32,000, while the Children's Bereavement Centre raised £18,179, its highest amount from any event, enough to fund therapy for another 91 children. Emmanuel House, which supports people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Nottingham, raised £15,225.

The event is about more than elite times. It welcomes first-time half marathon runners and seasoned athletes alike, alongside a Mini Marathon, and crowds line the route to cheer everyone home.

Demand for next year is already strong, with more than 1,000 entries sold in the first 24 hours after 2027 registration opened. The organisers are billing 2027 as a celebration of 46 years of running in Nottingham.

Entries for 2027, race information and charity partner details are available on the Robin Hood Half Marathon website.
